Since the Mouse came to town, tourists seeking to enjoy the kingdom and its sibling theme parks often found themselves wanting to slow down for a day and try something less grand in size. And so, many local attractions popped up in the late 70s and early 80s—such as water parks, shopping centers and single-theme venues—seeking to give visitors an off-day from the more expensive option of a branded theme park experience. Fun Spot America was founded in 1979 (originally named Fun N Wheels) and has since been delighting families staying in the International Drive area.

With its Americana look and feel, Fun Spot America gives visitors a no-frills experience that focuses on the family enjoyment, rather than on expensive animatronics or dark-ride type of attractions commonly found in the larger theme parks. Still, there is plenty of fun to be had in its attractions which include the Headrush 360 spinning ride, the Hot Seat giant swing, the Rip Curl people spinner, and the 250-foot tall SkyCoaster.

Fun Spot America also has a Ferris Wheel, its popular Midway Games, and a Screamer drop ride. And if that's not enough, the theme park has five go-kart tracks: Thrasher, Quad Helix, Commander, Conquest, and the kids-themed Cadet Track. Children also have options that are less intense than the larger rides, including Scooby Boo, the Sea Serpent, the Happy Swing, Super Trucks, and Kiddie Swings.

A single-day pass (as of October 2019) has a ticket price just under $50, allowing you to ride the many roller coasters, go-cart circuits and thrill rides. Visitors to Fun Spot America who drive a rental car or their own vehicle will be happy to know there’s plenty of parking and it is free of charge—adding to the feel-good option of not visiting one of the larger theme parks. And since the park is located so close to Vista Cay Resort by Millenium, we know you will love staying so close to an exceptional option that costs less than half of what a larger theme park ticket price will run you.
