Orange County Heritage Day: Becoming Florida

January 23rd

On January 23, the History Center continues its annual tradition of celebrating our county’s official beginnings with free admission and fun activities for the whole family, adding a special theme for 2021: “Becoming Florida.”

It’s the bicentennial year of Florida’s becoming part of the United States in 1821 – a major milestone in a long past shaped by a rich tapestry of people and cultures. During 2021, the History Center will explore the historical Floridians who created the state we know today, through a variety of “Becoming Florida” programs. They begin in January with our special 2021 edition of Orange County Heritage Day.
