There’s a new theme park coming soon to Orlando and it will be epic! Whether you’ve kept up with every update or this is the first time you’ve heard about Universal Epic Universe, we’re here to provide you with all the information we know.

The Creation Of Epic Universe

Epic Universe, the 4th theme park by Universal, was announced in August 2019. Initially, it was set to open in 2023, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed construction. The opening date is now confirmed for summer 2025. Originally, the park was planned for 700 acres, but Universal has since announced an additional 1,300 acres for the project.

Changes To Orlando

To combat the anticipated increase in traffic, Universal is expanding roadways and creating new traffic flows on Kirkman Road. Plans also include building a new Sunrail station to connect the park and Orange County Convention Center to the Orlando International Airport. The new station will be right next to us here at Vista Cay!

Sections Of The Park

The layout of Epic Universe will consist of five main areas. The entrance and main section of the park are called Celestial Park.  From there, guests can explore four different "portals," each leading to a unique world: Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.

Celestial Park is the main hub of Epic Universe. Here, guests can find the portals to other worlds, view the Grand Helios Hotel, and experience the thrills of cosmic-themed rides. Here are some of the rides, dining, and shopping experiences we know about so far:

Stardust Racers

Stardust Racers is a dual-launch coaster that will launch two comet-themed cars simultaneously that race around each other. This thrilling ride will reach speeds of 62 mph and heights of 133 ft. Check out the recent test footage here!

Constellation Carousel

Kids and stargazers alike will love the Constellation Carousel with constellation-themed animals twirling around the cosmos. We highly recommend looking up and seeing the ceiling rotating through star patterns.

The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant

When you step inside The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant, you’ll instantly be transported to a bustling courtyard where it’s always evening and illuminated by neon lights and lanterns. This restaurant will serve Japanese, Chinese and Thai Cuisine.
